If you are looking for a taste of culture, Griffith has a great choice of museums, galleries, and theatres on offer. The Griffith Regional Art Gallery (www.griffithregionalartgallery.com.au/) is one of Australia’s leading regional cultural institutions, holding significant collections of Australian art including regional and local artists.

Griffith also features a 510 seat regional theatre, Italian Museum and a variety of craft and antique stores.

Griffith is at the heart of the vast Murrumbidgee Irrigation area and is one of the most productive agricultural regions in Australia producing about 60% of the grapes grown in the state. Today, there are more than a dozen wineries in the district with world-famous names. Many of the Griffith wineries also have wine tasting at the cellar door, notably De Bortoli Wines (https://www.debortoli.com.au/ ), Calabria Family Wines (http://www.calabriawines.com.au/), and McWilliam’s Wines (http://www.mcwilliamswines.com.au/).

Griffith is known for its high quality of dining options and, being located in the centre of town, we are within walking distance to some of the best. The famous La Scala restaurant is located directly across the road from the motel, featuring Italian cuisine. We are also close to restaurants featuring Chinese, Indian, or Thai cuisine, so guests have a wide variety of choices.

If you are looking for activities for the whole family to enjoy, Altina Wildlife Park (http://www.altinawildlife.com) is an outstanding safari park with unique personalised tours. City Park is also within easy walking distance to The Grand Motel and you will be amazed at the range of equipment and activities at this incredible wet and dry playground for all ages.

Ecotourism is also available in Griffith. Scenic Hill has various walking trails, lookouts and is home to the famous Hermit's Cave where Valerio Ricetti lived for over 10 years. Nericon Swamp, part of the Griffith Wetlands Important Bird Area, is an important site for migratory birds. Nearby Cocoparra National Park offers walking trails and there are opportunities to explore along the Murrumbidgee River and Lake Wyangan.

As a major regional centre, Griffith also plays host to a number of different events throughout the year. These include:

• La Festa Wine, Food and Multicultural Festival, which is held annually over the Easter weekend.
• Festival of Gardens, which is held annually in October including citrus sculptures.
• Sikh Games, held annually on the June Long Weekend.
